Answer :-The main difference between innate (non-specific) and adaptive (specific) defenses is
• Innate ( non specific ) immunity :- This is the type of immunity which is present during birth. It includes certain physical, cellular, and chemical barriers throughout the body. It is NONSPECIFIC. Example :- mucus membranes ( physical ) Natural killer cells ( cellular ) Enzyems in the stomach ( chemical barrier)
• Adaptive ( specific ) immunity :- This is Acquired immunity that
develops in response to antigens and It is SPECIFIC to
the antigen. Specificity is determined by B-cells and T-cells .
