Menopause is a cessation of menstruation in a women which is physiological. In menopause the estrogen hormones in the body is less due to the anovulation. Anovulation occurs due to the cessation of the ovum count in the ovary. The purpose of this change is physiological when the ovary doesn't contain any ovum to release this change occurs. It occurs at the age of 40-50.This hormonal change affect the women's mood swings, fatigue of the body, some women gain weight, low libido and even osteoporosis.

Yes men do have menopause but they not menstruate. Their testosterone hormone level drops at the age of 50 in Men. It leads to low libido, loss of interest and body fatigue.
