Explain why signal amplification is essential

Explain why signal amplification is essential

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Amplification is built in the system. In the form of single hormone mlecule a signal must reaches the cell.It must be amplified so that rather than just be a single molecule the response is carried out multiple times.Signaling chain has the potential for amplification in each step. The mlecules that relay a signal are ofetn proteins. There is a greater potential of amplification of signaling chain is several steps long.Through various signaling molecules the cell receives signal.Binding of signaling molecules with appropriate cell surface receptor leads to triggering a chain of events .This not only carries the signal but also amplifies it as well.
