Answer #1

Voidind is regulated by autonomic nervous system.Autonomic nervous system consists of sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system. The effect of these two systems on voiding can be understood here as follows:

Parasympathetic system: These consists of muscarinic receptors, M3, present in the detrusor muscles of urinary bladder. When stimulated, they cause detrusor muscle contraction. This cause voiding.

Sympathetic system: This consists of beta receptors present in the detrusor muscles. They decrease detrusor contraction and cause their relaxation. Also alpha-1 receptors are present in the bladder sphincter. It causes the sphincter constriction. Thus sympathetic nervous system inhibit voiding.

In this question, the person goes into flight/fight mode. This means the sympathetic nervous system is activated, this inhibits voiding.
