Describe the mechanisms of breathing
When the person inhales the oxygen, the diaphram contracts and moves downward. Do to this movement of the muscles, there will be an increase in the size of the chest cavity and the lumgs will increase its size to it. The muscles in between the rib helps for the expansion of the chest cavity. This contracts and pulls up the rib cage both outward and inward when the person breaths. During inhalation, the oxygen is carried to the lungs and during exhalation the carbondioxide is moved outward. His process of inhaling of oxygen and exhalation of carbondioxide is called as breathing.
