List four different factors that impact the release of growth hormone, and how those factors impact the level of growth hormones?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Growth hormone is secreted through anterior pituitary. Growth hormone releasing hormone regulates the secretion of growth hormone.
Growth hormone helps in cell growth and regeneration.
Number of factors govern growth hormone releass. These are :

1. Glucose level : increased blood glucose level inhibits growth hormone whereas decreased blood glucose level stimulates growth hormone release.
2. Puberty : In presence of various androgens such as testosterone and oestrogen, release of growth hormone is stimulated.
3. Stressful situations: stress such as exercise increases the release of growth hormone

4. Deep sleep : the growth hormone release is increased during the deep sleep.
