Briefly describe the Bernoulli Effect in relation to vocal fold vibration.
ANS)
The vocal folds are located in the base of larynx in vocal tract and this dual inward folds of the mucous membrane behave as the vibrator at the time of production of speech sounds.Open at the time of breathing, folds will be blocked by the rotation of aritenoid cartilage for the verbal communication/speaking.
The positive air pressure which comes from the lungs make them to open temporarily, however the enhanced velocity air makes a decreased pressure by Bernoulli effect which take them back conjointly.Folds oneselves have the resonant frequency that control the voice pitch.
