Ans- Very little testosterone is present to support their continued development

Wolffian ducts are mesonephrons that connects the primitive kidney wolfian body to cloaca and therefore they are embryonic structure that forms male external genitalia. The male hormone testosterone is responsible for the maintenance and elaboration of the wolffian ducts and their action is mediated by their receptors. They are formed in both males and females but in females, there is very little amount of testosterone present, therefore they get degenerated in female body.
