Write questions you will ask a patient at your clinic about his dietary history .. write in details

Answer #1

It is based on 24 hour recall method.

We have to ask what the patient ate at breakfast, lunch, evening and dinner on a typical day.so that it was regular diet.

We should ask them how much quantity of food they take. For example rice 1 plate, sambar 1 cup.

Based on this we have to calculate calorie and protein values.

If there is deficit in protein and calories ,the patient has malnutrition.

Dietary history is for age more than 6 months, for age less than 6 months it is feeding history.

We have to ask whether he is veg / Non veg /mixed because non veg diet has more protein content.

During illness ,whether the patient takes food or not.

The major problem in developing countries is malnutrition because of deficit in protein and calories.
