Endocrine hormones are secreted into blood and carried by the blood and tissue fluids to the cells they act upon. Example: Pituitary hormones like leutinizing hormone ( LH), Follicular stimulating hormone ( FSH), prolactin, Thyroid stimulating hormone ( TSH).

Exocrine hormones are secreted into a duct and then into blood stream. They are transferred from cell to cell by diffusion ( paracrine signalling). Examples for exocrine glands secreting hormones are sweat, salivary, lacrimal, prostate glands.
