It is important to study anatomy and physiology of human body for every profession of health sciences. Because studying anatomy and physiology gives knowledge about the normal structure and function of every part of human body. This knowledge helps to detect abnormalities.

In the Same way it is important for the dental professionals to learn about anatomy of the skull, because learning the anatomy helps to detect abnormalities in the patients.

For example to detect the hypodontia (Missing teeth) dental professionals must know the normal dental formula and structure.

Another example to detect the abnormalities in cementum and enamel need to have the knowledge regarding normal structure of cementum and enamel.
