Albumin is a protein which is profoundly found in blood, the blood is filter through kidney it helps in removal of waste product from the body. Albumin is a microparticle when it is present in the urine the nephron is permeable to protein and it indicate that the kidney is getting damage or under the risk of renal disease. Greater the magnitude of albumin, greater the risk of kidney disease.

There are many other proteins found in urine such as bence-jone, globulin etc but albumin is a significant marker for nephron permeability.
