Diestive system inolves the break down of large food particles into the smaller sub units of food. It also helps in the absorption of food.

Digestive system consists of alimentary canal and glands.

* Glands secrete the digestive enzymes. These enzymes help in digestion of food. They reduce the activation of energy and enhances the rate of break down of food. Hence the enzymes secreted by the pancreas, salivary glands and stomach help in the digestion of food.

* Alimentary canal consists of mouth, oespohagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine and anus. The small intestinal linings have millions of villi. Villi consists of thousands of microvilli. These villi and microvilli helps in the absorption of digested food. Because these villi and microvilli enhances the surface area of intestine for the absorption of food.
