Luteinizing hormone or LH is a hormone that is produced by the anterior pituitary gland and is secreted along with follicle stimulating hormone or FSH. Its release is stimulated by another hormone called gonadotropin releasing hormone. It is an important hormone that regulates the functions of testes in men and ovaries in women. In men the LH can stimulate the interstitial Leydig cells which is found near seminiferous tubules in the testicles that in turn produces the testosterone, a hormone that helps give the male characteristics and sperm production. In women LH stimulates ovarian follicles and thus produces oestradiol, a female sex hormone. So in the male, LH B) stimulates the interstitial cells to increase their secretion of teststerone.
