The veins which drains the brain are called cerebral veins. There are two groups of cerebral veins, superficial and deep. Superficial veins drain the cortex region while the deep veins drain the structure deep to the cortex such as thalamus and hypothalamus.

Now these cerebral veins pours blood into dural venous sinuses. The superficial veins pours blood into superior sagittal sinus. The deep veins pours into transverse, straight and sigmoid sinus.

From the venous sinuses, there arise internal jugular vein. Internal jugular vein leaves the skull via jugular foreman.

Now internal jugular vein combines with subclavian vein to form brachiocephalic vein.

This brachiocephalic vein ultimately drains into superior Vena Cana which takes blood into right atrium.
