Homework Answers

Answer #1

Sex hormones are the driving force of the sexual development ( puberty). The sex hormones differ in men and women. Main responsible sex hormones are oestrogen and testosterone.

Oestrogen helps in the maturation of eggs in ovaries. Once the girl attain puberty ovum releases from the ovary at regular intervals during menstrual cycle.

Other hormones include

  • FSH ( follicle stimulating hormone) : helps in the maturation of an egg
  • LH ( leutinizing hormone):- helps in the release of egg from ovary
  • Oestrogen and progesterone :- helps to maintain the uterine lining

In males after attainment of puberty, testosterone helps to stimulate sperm production .
