a) Muscular system begins to develop at the fourth week of gestation. It initiates with the differentiation of paraxial mesoderm into somites which further grows into sclerotomes and dermomyotomes. Musculoskeleton system usually develops from paraxial mesoderm, parietal layer of the lateral plate mesoderm and neural crest cells.

b) Medical specialty or subspecialty that focuses on the muscular system:

• Musculoskeletal radiology - Studies about basic radialogy and muscular anatomy.
• Neurology and neuromuscular medicine - Neural conduction and reflex tests,
• Physical medicine and rehabilitation - MUscle anatomya nd physiology.
• Musculoskeletal oncology - Cell proliferation properties.
