"How VEP can be used to measure VA"
Visual acuity (VA), known as the acuteness or clearness of the vision, can be measured using visual evoked potentials (VEP). The VA can be estimated with VEP and that estimated visual acuity is a measure for all the pre-verbal and non-verbal subjects whether they may be adults or children. The correlation of the amplitude of VEP and visual acuity gives its value. VEP test is used when light from an image enters the eye, it gets turned into electrical energy due to the cells in retina, and this electrical energy is sent to the visual cortex where VEP test records the electrical signals and then creates a report of visual acuity.
