Hi. This is a question for my summer neuroscience class.
Q: Why must a neuroscientist studying language and brain understand phonemes and phonology?
There can be many reasons. The important reason is
1. He can make new predictions about the physiology of the brain such as structure and organization.
2. The study of language will improve his thinking skills and memory abilities.
3. The language will Help the concentration, intelligence, keeping your mind sharp etc...
For understanding phonemes and phonology there is main part in brain which is temporal lobe. This brain part helping for the better understanding use of language. Brain helps in understanding phonemes and phonology through a computation of process and this process carry out. When the speech contain some spectrotenporal property, and it converted into phonological representations. After these representation converted into appropriate motor command and it will generate sequences of sound. Brain respond to the speech in a cut up fashion.
