The spinal cord is the basic structure of humans which gives posture.

From superior to inferior the spine basically divided into five redions

1. Cervical verterbrae

2. Thoracic vertebrae

3. Lumbar vertebrae

4. Sacrum

5. Coccyx

Cervical region contains 7 bones from c1 to c7 where, c1 and c2 are atlas and axis

Thoracic region contain 12 bones from T1 to T12 which are small and help in rotational and twisting movements.

Lumbar vertebrae are most important bones from L1 to L5 which mainly bears majority of the body weight.

Sacrum or sacral spine is flat large triangular shaped bone which forms the pelvis

Coccyx or commonly referred to as tailbone is an edge part of spine where the tendons, muscles and ligaments attach and helps to maintain sitting position.
