Answer:- central nervous system is a part of nervous system that integrates the recieved information and coordinates and influences the activity of all parts of the body of bilaterally symmetrical organisms.

The two mains parts of central nervous system are -

(A) brain

(B) spinal cord

Functions of brain :-

1. It performs higher functions like interpreting touch, vision, hearing, as well as speech, reasoning, emotions, learning, and fine control of movement.

2. It controls hunger and temperature of the body.

3. It controls involuntary functions of the body like heart rate, breathing rate etc.

Functions of spinal cord -

1. It controls and coordinat the various reflexes of the body.

2. It helps in transmission of nerve signals from the periphery to the brain and again from the brain to periphery of the body.
