Where would you find the highest concentration along the path of renal filtrate?

Where would you find the highest concentration along the path of renal filtrate?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Highest concentration of solute in nephron is found at the end of Decending thin limb of Henle.

Decending loop of henle lies in the medullary interstium containing very high Osmolarity. Also, the decending thin limb of loop of henle is freely permiable to water but impermeable to solute. Hence, as filterate move down in the decending loop of henle more and more water gets reabsorbed and solute remains inside the tubule. Hence, maximum Concentration of Solute is found at the end of decending limb of loop of henle.
