Answer #1

Answer

Urea is a nitrogenous waste product of protein metabolism.

  • It is filtered in the glomerular capillaries and enter into Bowman's capsule as filtrate.
  • Urea plays an important role in increasing water reabsorption.
  • Urea is also reabsorbed from renal tubules to create a concentration gradient.
  • The molecules of urea that are not reabsorbed gets excreted in urine.

The pathway is :

  • Bowman's capsule (As filtrate)
  • Proximal convoluted tubule (In tubular fluid)
  • Descending limb of loop of Henle
  • Ascending limb of loop of Henle
  • Distal convoluted tubule
  • Collecting duct
  • Papillary duct (As urine)
  • Renal papilla
  • Minor calyx
  • Major calyx
  • Renal pelvis
  • Ureter
  • Urinary bladder
  • Urethra
  • External urethral orifice Out of the body
