Damage to kidney can cause improper or imbalance in the following functions like fluid balanace,Electrolyte levels like sodium, potassium, calcium etc,r waste in the form of urine and regulation of BP and RBC count.

Treatment depends on the severity of injury. So here, since the patient is unstable with loss of blood from kidney, surgery is required to fix and preserve injured kidney.If the injury is too bad, might require kidney removal.
