A. is the same as alveolar pressure.
B. is higher than alveolar pressure.
C. is lower than alceolar pressure
D. none of the above

Homework Answers

Answer #1

inspiration occurs when the barometric pressure is higher than alveolar pressure.

Answer - B. is higher than alveolar pressure.

During the process of inspiration, the contraction of External intercostal muscle moves the rib cage in an upward direction that increases the size of the thoracic cavity anterior and posteriorly then, the contraction of Diaphragm increases the size of the thoracic cavity inferiority. Increasing the volume of the thoracic cavity decreases the pressure than atmospheric presser which pulls air in an inward direction.
