Dehydration is caused when people lose more body water than they take, with reduced wate intake, water flows out of the cells into the extracellular fluid, with reduced volume, cells start to shrink, cellular shrinkage occurs becuase  water is effectively borrowed to maintain other stores, such as the blood.Since blood osmolarity increases during dehydration, water moves out of the cells to the blood
