Heart is made of four chambers namely,

· Left ventricle

The opening of blood flow between the right atrium and right ventricle is guarded by “tricuspid valve” and the left atrium and left ventricle are connected by “bicuspid valve (or mitral valve).” The bicuspid valve contains two cusps. It is different from the other valve (tricuspid valve) as it contains three cusps.

Yes, the cusps of mitral valve are attached to the papillary muscles by chordae tendineae.

The right side of the heart contains three papillary muscles, whereas that of the left side contains two papillary muscles.

The myocardium of the left ventricle is thicker than the right ventricle because it has to pump the blood towards all the body parts. The right ventricle pumps greater volume of blood than the left ventricle.
