1.Concentric contraction -Length shorter when tension is increased in muscle .

It is during upward phase of exercise ,Biceps brachi produces tension and shortens it pulls the arm upward to cause flexion of the elbow .
2.Eccentric contraction -- Length is increased when tension is increase in muscles .
In this if force is increased velocity is increased .
It is during downward phase of exercise ,biceps brachi produces tension and lengthen and slows the lowering of forearm and control the extension of elbow .
Isometric contraction -- Length same when tension increases in muscles.
It is when someone hold the weight in hand still there is no flexion or extension of elbow there is generation of force but the length remains constant
