Question

Discuss about Homeostasis

Discuss about Homeostasis

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Homeostasis: It is defined as the ability to maintain stability or balance or equilibrium irrespective of the changes in the physiological process in the body .

Example 1 : Normal blood calcium level in body is 8.5 to 10.5 mg/dL .

In the body when blood calcium falls below normal level then para thyroid hormone releases and increases body calcium .

If the body has more calcium than the normal level then calcitonin releases and decreases the blood calcium level

Example 2 : Our normal body temperature is 98.6°F

When we are cold environment , our body temperature begins to fall , then our body starts shivering by which our body temperature is increased

When our body has high temperature , our body begins to sweat which is a mechanism to cool the surface of the body .
