Describe how the pulmonary circuit works compared to the systemic circuit. Be sure to define each, and include specific vessels discussed in class.
ANSWER :
The pathway of blood circulation between the heart and lungs is called as pulmonary circuit. The pulmonary artery and veins are important blood vessels of the pulmonary circuit, where pulmonary artery carry deoxygenated blood from right ventricle to the lungs for oxygenation, and pulmonary artery drain back the oxygenated blood to the left atrium of the heart.
The rest of the blood circulation in the body organs is termed as systemic circulation, in that blood transportation occurs via vena cavae, (large veins), aorta (large artery), and their associated blood vessels.
