cryptorchidism is the condition in which one or both the testes of an infant have not descended into the scrotal sac by the birth and in these cases the testis are surgically descended into the scrotal sac because for production of mature sperm the temperature should be 2-3 degree less than the body temperature that can only possible if testes lies in the scrotal sac i.e, outside the body hence testes decend is must if the later fertility of the child is to be maintained.
