Explain the factors which affect carbon dioxide loading ( explination please!!! it can be short)
Carbondioxide loading-
Definition- The binding of haemoglobin to carbondioxide i.e carbondioxide combines with free amino group of the haemoglobin to form carbamino-haemoglobin.
Factors responsible for carbondioxide loading-
1)Increase in partial pressure of carbondioxide (pCO2)
2)Fall in blood pH (presence of high hydrogen ion concentration)
3) increase in body temperature
4)Increase in concentration of 2,3 - diphosphoglyceric acid (2,3-DPG)
All these factors decresases affinity of haemoglobin to oxygen and increases affinity to carbondioxide causing loading of carbondioxide to blood.
The effect is known as BOHR EFFECT i.e decrease in affinity of haemoglobin to oxygen, when increase in pCO2 and decrease in pH.
Loading of carbondioxide occurs at tissue level as pCO2 is more at tissue level.
