Ans- There are three steps in platelet plug formation-

1. Platelet adhesion- It occurs when von willebrand factor connects to collagen and platelets.

2. Platelet release reaction- release of ADP, thromboxane and other chemicals that activate other platelets.

3. Platelet aggregation- It occurs when fibrinogen receptors on the activated platelets bind to fibrinogen, connecting platelets to one another. A platelet plug is formed by the accumulating mass of platelets.
