Osteoclast are the bone destroying cell present in the bone.

The main function of Osteoclast is to replace the old bone and help in the formation of new bone tissue.

Osteoclast have main role in the resorption of bone.it produces acid (H+) with the help of carbonic anhydrase enzyme

H20 -----> H+ + HCO3-

This acid and the collagenase enzyme help in the demineralisation of the bone matrix and produce calcium , phosphate ions which are absorbed into the blood stream.

Hormones like parathyroid secreted from the parathyroid gland result in increase in the blood concentration of calcium by activating the osteoclast for the bone resorption.

Osteocyte is the bone cellproduced by the osteoblast

Osteoblast : These are bone forming cell present in the bone which produce new bone cells

Chondrocyte:thease are the cells of the cartilage which form the cartilage matrix
