Explain how fat cell hypertrophy and hyperplasia each contributes to obesity and how fat cellularity will be changed with weight loss?
Adipocytes are the fat cells which is primarily make the adipose tissue. Obesity is due to the enlargement of adipose tissue as far is stored there. Hypertrophy bis the enlargement of the adipose tissue due to the increase in size of the adipocytes. As these cells enlarge the adipose tissue enlarge and can store more fat leading ti obesity. In hyperplasia the adipocyte numer increases and thus the adipose tissue enlarge and the fat storage increase that directly leads to the obesity.
During weight loss the fat stored in the adipose tissue is utilised for the energy production. Thus the fat storage decreases and the adipocytes shrinks. The fatty acids thus formed moves out of the cells and the apipose tissue become reduced. So as a result the weight of the person decreases.
