What does LH and FSH do in females? In males?
In females,
The FSH stimulates the ovarian follicle which helps in the growth of the egg and also triggers the production of estrogen in the follicle. The LH helps the egg to be released from the ovary and this process is called ovulation.
In males,
The LH stimulates testosterone production from the interstitial cells of the testes and FSH stimulates the testicular growth and enhances the production of an androgen-binding protein by the Sertoli cells.
