The muscles involved in ankle inversion are tibialis anterior, tibalis posterior, extensor halluces longus, flexor digitorum longus and flexor halluces longus. The muscles performing ankle eversion are peroneus longus, peroneus brevis, peroneus tertius and extensor digitorum .

Agonist of ankle inversion - tibialis anterior, tibialis posterior

Antagonist of ankle inversion – soleus, gastrocnemius, fibularis longus

Agonist of ankle eversion – peroneus longus, peroneus brevis

Antagonist of ankle eversion – tibialis posterior, gastrocnemius
