Sphincter muscles are the present around the sphincters that help regulate their opening and closing through contraction and relaxation.
An example of sphincter muscle in femsle reproductive system is external urethral sphincter. The female external urethral sphincter consists of three muscle, namely :

- sphincter urethral muscle

- urethrovaginal muscle

- compressor urethrae.
These muscles are innervated by the pudendal nerve snd helps in constriction of female urethra, vaginal orifice and helps maintain urinary continence as well.
