E. gray commissures

Homework Answers

Answer #1

A. Dorsal (posterior) root (spinal) ganglia.

The dorsal root ganglia contains the cell bodies of sensory neurons. It helps in conveying the sensory information through the afferent nerve fibers in the sensory nerves reaching to the brain travelling via spinal cord. The ventral(anterior) gray horns is present at the frontal coulmn of gray matter in spinal cord, contains the cell bodies of the alpha motor neurons. The lateral gray horn is located bewteen dorsal and ventral grey horn and it resides the cell bodies for the sympathetic nervous system.Dorsal (posterior) gray horns functions in receiving the sensory information from the body. The gray commissures connects the anterior and posterior horn of the gray matters ,contains neurons of spindle ,oval and round shaped.
