cells.These are the minute finger like projections of the cell
membrane.
They increases the surface area for better absorption of
substances.
Microvilli are also known as a brush border or striated
border.
Microvilli are present on the epithelium of the proximal
convoluted tubule in nephron.
About 80-90% of the filtrate is reabsorbed in the proximal
convoluted tubule. The brush bordered epithelium increases the
surface area for reabsorption .
