An antigen is a substance which when injected into a human will cause a antibody to be produced.These antibodies help in fighting against various infections.In case of ABO blood group the antigens are present on the surface of the rbc while the antibodies are in the serum.

The aspect of ABO blood group is very helpful for blood transfusion.Blood group O are said to universal donors because their blood can be used for transfusion in individuals who have any of the four blood types.Individuals with A and B Blood group can only donate to respective blood group and AB

INNATE IMMUNITY

We are born with some level of immunity and this is called innate immunity

Acquired immunity

Immunity that a person acquires during his lifetime and develops antibodies for a disease

Passive immunity

Vaccination or borrowed antibodies from mothers milk is called passive immunity.
