Patellar reflex or knee jerk reflex is a specific kind of reflex that is elicited by the individual when the patellar tendon is stimulated using a reflex harmer . This will cause a sudden jerky movement in the leg . This can be used to understand the neurological disorders

The effector are

In this when the reflex is elicited it will cause the stimulation of specific stretch receptors that is present in the muscle spindle of the quadriceps muscle which will synapse to the individual alpha motor neuron on to spinal cord at l4 and L3 . Then the efferent neuron bring signal which cause the contraction of the quadriceps muscles lifting the lower part of leg
