Answer #1

Answer

Option A) It is a myelinated fiber

  • A preganglionic fiber is always myelinated (contains myelin sheath) wether it is from symapthetic or parasymapthetic division of ANS.
  • Myelinated fibers contains nodes of Ranvier upon which the impulse jumps in order to reach the axon terminal.
  • Hence, the conduction of impulse is much faster in preganglionic fibers.
  • Also, all preganglionic fibers are cholinergic, means they release actylcholine as neurotransmitter.
