Low blood pressure will result in the following levels of hormones Select one:

a. High Renin;high ADH; low aldosterone b. High Renin; low ADH; low aldosterone c. Low Renin;low ADH;low Alsosterone d. High Renin;high ADH;high Aldosterone

Homework Answers

Answer #1

d. High Renin;high ADH;high Aldosterone

Explanation: Low blood pressure stimulate the kidney to increase renin secretion, which in turn causes the generation of angiotensin. Increased level of angiotensin II causes vasoconstriction of the vessels thereby increasing the blood pressure. It also stimulate the adrenal gland to increase the release of aldosterone to promote Na+ reabsorption which is followed by increased release of ADH from posterior pituitary to promote water reabsorption.
