Describe the mechanism for reabsorption of water, glucose and Na+ in the PCT.
Proximal convoluted tubule is a part of nephron, it reabsorbe water, glucose, Na+ and transport it into the bloodstream and this process is mainly isosmotic in nature. This reabsorption process occurs through paracellular path and transcellular path. Glucose passes along the basolateral membrane by facilitated diffusion. Na+ passed from the lumen to the blood, Ions present in the basolateral membrane, hepls in the reabsorbtion of Na+. Water is reabsorbed by osmosis, they often moved from renal tuble, mainly using paracellular path.
