What is Spermatogenesis —- process of making sperm, involves mitosis AND meiosis.
Next time, please mention how brief or how detailed an answer is expected!
Answer:
Spermatogenesis refers to the process of formation of male gametes, the haploid spermatozoa. The process occurs in the seminiferous tubules of male testis. The spermatogonial stem cells undergo mitosis, forming primary spermatocytes, which undergo meiosis I, forming secondary spermatocytes, which via meiosis II, forms spermatids. Spermatids are haploid. Spermatids finally form spermatozoa, also called as sperms, by spermiogenesis.
