Temporomandibular joints are joints connecting jawbone to the skull. they can be consider as bilateral synovian Articulation between temporal bone present in skull above and the mandible below. clinical implications are mouth opening, disarticulation role of the teeth in occlusal function and the most important clinical implications are morphological determinants of face and jaw. the structure ans shape is strongly affected by the temporomandibular joints. it is the unique joint in the whole body that have two joints in one. the basic functions include open and close , protrusion and retrusion and lateral deviation.
