Both chronic bronchitis and emphysema belong to Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Diseases (COPD).

In chronic bronchitis - the bronchi gets inflammed leading to cough and shortness of breath whereas in emphysema the alveoli are damaged and expanded leading to shortness of breath

the treatment for emphysema and chronic bronchitis are mostly similar but emphysema is irreversible whereas with treatment the attacks of chronic bronchitis would be decreased.
