Discuss the role of memory cells in immunity and vaccine development.
Answers: B- lymphocytes are the cells that invade the pathogens by making antibodies in the body. They help in making memory cells that remember the pathogen and expedite the process of antibody formation in case of any infection in the future. Basically these memory cells save/record all the information from the past infection related to how to produce the antibody to fight and eliminate the pathogen. These produced antibodies are then released in the blood.
The vaccine helps the immune system to recognize and eliminate pathogens. In the case of vaccine development, pathogens are introduced in body on certain amount which triggers the immune response. The memory cells store the response and recognize it when the body encounters the same type of pathogen.
