Homework Answers

Answer #1

Answer : (B) Thyroxin & Epinephrine

Cellular respiration is the biochemical pathway by which cells obtain energy from the chemical bonds of food molecules for the essential processes of life. The hormones which causes an increase in the basal metabolism of the body, leads to an increase in the cellular respiration, beacuse of the incraesed energy demands.

Thyroid hormones, epinephrine and nor-adrenaline are the hormones which act on many different tissue types, stimulating metabolic activity throughout the body. So, thyroid hormones, epinephrine and nor-adrenaline increase the cellular respiration. Other hormones which have an effect on metabolism are estrogen and testosterone.
